Nila Systems CASE STUDY: JEROME PARK

Jerome Park is a popular, 18-acre park in the heart of Santa Ana, CA. It features a pair of public baseball diamonds that are used for both day and night games in a location that’s very close to homes and businesses. The park was outfitted with an aging metal halide lighting system that had high power costs and provided mediocre lighting. The city of Santa Ana chose to upgrade the lighting for their ball fields with an LED lighting system from Nila.

The Ball Fields

Both ball fields suffered from uneven illumination and too much light pollution in the surrounding neighborhood. Their 1,500 watt, metal halide fixtures needed frequent maintenance due to the high levels of heat they generated and their unpredictable lamp burnouts. The existing system was unreliable, slow to warm up, and very costly for the city of Santa Ana to operate.

The Nila Benefits

We replaced 76 metal halide fixtures with 72 daylight-balanced Nila fixtures. The light levels at the park were increased by 10% using fewer fixtures.
